ABSTRACT
Vertigo is the frequent diagnostic and therapeutic problem that each general practitioner, pediatrician, laryngologist and neurologist has to deal with. It can appear in many different illnesses, requiring both a quick diagnosis and treatment (such as brain tumors), as well as on the basis of emotional disorders. The frequency of appearing is estimated to be about 20% to 30% of the whole population, and 8–18% in case of children. Establishing the cause of the vertigo, especially in children, is very difficult. The authors present the most frequent causes of the vertigo in children, their clinical symptoms as well as the methods of diagnosis.

Key words: vertigo, children, causes, diagnosis
