ABSTRACT
Long-term consequences of early motor treatment resulting from impaired physical development and mobility level in children have not yet been thoroughly investigated. There is no research conducted on large groups which would provide evidence for the effectiveness of therapy. One of the reasons is the lack of a sensitive evaluative instrument to assess changes occurring during specialised exercises. The literature describes a number of various scales of motor activity assessment; however, none of them is sensitive enough to estimate the immediate goal of a therapy as well as the changes occurring over a short period of treatment.

Key words: motor development, functional scales
